Mike Mullin, Author

I'm the author of the ASHFALL three-and-a-half-ology: ASHFALL, ASHEN WINTER, SUNRISE, and DARLA'S STORY.

Are writers headed for extinction? Narrative Science is working on it.

Reblogged from Books2day:

When I first read about AI being used to write articles I was mildly amused and figured it would go away quickly like so many other new technologies. But a year later the developer is still going strong and just raised more capital to stay in business. Apparently some news organizations are actually using their software already.

Narrative Science takes raw data like sports scores and actually writes an article about it. Sports journalists will be the first to go in the new order apparently, but how much more time before they start trying to do this for other non-fiction or even novels? The brave new world might be a scary place for authors.

Hmm. Wonder what I'll do if I'm replaced by a computer?
